Dr. Fawzi Zaidan Ali is a Senior Principal Assistant Director in the Medical Development Division and has over 13 years of experience in various positions at the Ministry of Health Malaysia. He has been actively involved in the national casemix strategic and operational policymaking decisions. Dr. Fawzi has also played a key role in the development and implementation of three versions of MOH Diagnosis-Related Group applications and is currently overseeing the project to develop a unified national DRG application for all 370 hospitals in Malaysia.
Dr. Fawzi holds a Doctor of Medicine from Padjadjaran University, Bandung, Indonesia, and a Master’s in Hospital Administration from the University of the Philippines.
Currently, Dr. Fawzi serves as a member of the Malaysia ICD-11 and ICHI Implementation Committee and the Technical Advisory Committee for Health Technologies Economic Evaluation. He has actively participated in various major workshops and conferences, such as the 36th Patient Classification Systems International (PCSI) Conference 2024 and the PCSI Advanced Design and Implementation of Case-Mix Funding Models School 2023.
Dr. Fawzi is dedicated to build a career in leadership and management and is passionate about contributing to the transformation of the Malaysian healthcare system. His areas of interest include public health, hospital financing, health economics, and digitalization.
